TPU

Thermoplastic Polyurethane (95A)

Flexible rubber-like material (Shore 95A hardness) perfect for parts requiring elasticity and shock absorption. TPU offers excellent abrasion resistance and can be stretched repeatedly without permanent deformation. The perceived flexibility of a print depends on its geometry, wall thickness, and overall dimensions.

Advantages

  • Highly flexible and elastic
  • Excellent abrasion resistance
  • Good chemical resistance
  • Vibration dampening properties
  • Can be stretched without breaking

Good to Know

  • Longer production time than rigid materials
  • Higher cost than rigid materials
  • Best in factory colors — paint may crack when the part flexes
  • Fine details and sharp edges are harder to achieve than with rigid materials
  • Flexibility depends on part geometry — small or thick-walled parts will feel more rigid
